Charity Lives at the Center Club's 2011 Charity Classic!

On October 10th, 2011 Charity Lives supported the Center Club's 2011 Center Club's Small Bites for Big Causes' charity tasting event benefiting MDA's Augie's Quest, FOR OC Kids Neurodevelopmental Center, and ClubCorp's Employee Partners Care Foundation.

This tasty event took place at Costa Mesa's elegant Center Club and featured an exciting competition of small plates created by prestigious and Orange County local chefs. 100+ of Orange Counties finest arrived with their support and their appetites. Guests were treated to a lovely night of beautifully designed and highly creative plates to devour, critique, and enjoy; as well as fine wines to sip, a silent auction, and live music made for a great night.

Several celebrity judges, including world renowned food critic Simon Majumdar, were given the tough task of judging each of these plates to determine most delectable dish of the night. Attendees were also invited to vote for their favorite plate with given a tokens received upon arrival. Executive pastry chef of the Island Hotel in Newport Beach, Michael Owens, took the honor of receiving judge's best dish with his scrumptious s'mores taco while the people's choice award went to Chef Mark Miskiewicz of Creme de la Creme Restaurant for his short rib chili with sweet corn compote and spicy dragon fruit tumbleweed.

http://charitylives.com/images/com_fwgallery/files/62/3052941015033291422307160289307080449561940647437n.jpgThe night's event was hosted by radio and television superstar, Bubba Jackson of KJAZZ 88.1 FM with special appearances by host of "Local on Demand" Christina Macaulay, and UCI men's volleyball head coach and assistant coach for US men's volleyball, Coach John Speraw. Additional judges included author, chef, and food columnist for the OC Register' Cathy Thomas, TV personality PJ Ochlan, community leader Mary Carrington, and author and TV host of "The New Way Gourmet" Diana Von Welanetz Wentworth.

Charity Lives, an advocacy campaign, whose mission is in the organization, support, and promotion of a globally recognized philanthropic dogma came together with the Center Club to support 3 local Orange County charities. MDA's Augie's Quest a world leader among voluntary agencies in fighting ALS, offering the most comprehensive range of services, FOR OC Kids a Neurodevelopmental Center dedicated to the earliest identification and intervention of Orange County children with developmental, behavioral or learning problems and the Center Clubs ClubCorp Employee Partners Care Foundation a 501(c)3 fund established to help Employee Partners and their families in need of financial assistance in times of crisis.
